As we continue to slowly but surely inch back towards the weekend, let’s all take a minute to grab a coffee or whiskey (no judgement) and get into what this beautiful Tuesday has to offer.

Here's what's worth reading about so far this week:

TEXAS ANGLER BUSTED FOR ALLEGED CHEATING AFTER WEIGHTS FOUND IN BASS AT LAKE FORK TOURNAMENT

In yet another blow to the integrity of competitive bass fishing, a Texas angler was arrested over the weekend after tournament officials and game wardens discovered a little extra weight inside a largemouth bass he submitted for weigh-in.

Curtis Lee Daniels, 45, of Willow Park, Texas, was taken into custody on Sunday during the second and final day of the Lake Fork Lure Co. Tournament on legendary Lake Fork. The event drew 564 competitors vying for a prize purse of up to $11,500 overall, with $10,000 of that on the line for the biggest bass.

Tournament staff, employing standard anti-cheating protocols, scanned Daniels' fish with a metal-detecting wand at the weigh-in station. After the device pinged to the presence of a foreign object, our friends from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department stepped in to have a closer look…

The wolf photographed in Nebraska is believed to be the one killed in Wyoming

🐺 Nebraska Locals Claim Familiar Wolf Killed in Southeast Wyoming. Last month we reported on a southeast Wyoming rancher who shot and killed a wolf on his property near Carpenter in Laramie County. At the time, Royce Breeden described the animal as a roughly 2-year-old male with a distinctive mixed gray-and-black coat, unusually long legs, and an estimated weight of around 80 pounds. The kill happened about 2.5 miles north of the Wyoming-Colorado border in an area where wolves can be taken on sight without a license as no protected status applies there. The wolf carried no radio collar, and initial details were sparse beyond the rancher's account.

Well, new information has since emerged tying that incident directly to a string of sightings across the state line. Multiple residents in western Nebraska now believe this is the same wolf they observed repeatedly starting in October 2025, with a notable sighting on October 6 near Bushnell in Kimball County, roughly 30 miles from the eventual kill site. Electricians, farmers, and others reported seeing the animal lingering near an elk carcass by the roadside through the fall and winter, noting its standout long legs and coloring. After photos from the Wyoming shooting circulated, locals confirmed a visual match, marking what appears to be a clear case of cross-state dispersal as wolf populations continue expanding from reintroduction efforts in Colorado (which began in late 2023) and natural movement across the Great Plains.

🧐 What Hikers Thought Were Human Remains in PA Park Were Actually Just from a Deer. On Friday a pair of hikers in Ridley Creek State Park discovered what they believed to be human remains a find that initially even fooled the medical examiner. After placing a 911 call, police and the Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office were dispatched to the scene. Given that the medical examiner determined the remains were human, Pennsylvania State Police to take over the investigation since the discovery occurred in a state park.

However, after the medical examiner gave those bones a proper once-over on Sunday, it was determined to be just one very dead deer, rather than your next true-crime podcast episode. State Police swooped in with the official “never mind, carry on with your hike” update, mercifully ending the brief panic over the death of Bambi’s unfortunate cousin.

💵 BC Officials Offer $2,000 Reward After Mule Deer Killed Illegally in Okanagan Falls. A male mule deer was killed unlawfully under suspicious circumstances in the early morning hours of March 4th in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia. The British Columbia Conservation Officer Service is investigating the incident, which appears to involve poaching or illegal killing outside of legal hunting seasons, regulations, or methods. The BCCOS would not offer specific details regarding the deer’s injuries or the manner in which it was killed, stating that there are specifics about the wounds that “only certain people would know.”

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered through the BC Wildlife Federation for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for violating wildlife laws. Anyone with details about suspicious activity, witnesses, or other relevant info is urged to contact the Report All Poachers and Polluters (RAPP) line at 1-877-952-7277.

WANDERINGS // A SFW GLIMPSE OF OUR BROWSER HISTORY

My dream office looks something like either a remote beach with private surf break or a cabin up on a mountain somewhere. And until Elon solves the connectivity in those areas (which I partly hope he doesn’t), I suppose I’m left with designing a pretty cool study at home. The story of the Ziegler Expedition that found itself stranded for years in frigid Arctic waters and how the crew nearly lost all hope, but fortunately, got a front row seat to aurora borealis show. How a Minneapolis man helps baseball fans recapture memories by repairing treasured gloves. And are you eating your meals too fast??
